BACKGROUND | THE HOMETOWN AGENT

Raised in Lafayette, Ashley was very active in the community, volunteer and sports programs throughout childhood and high school. She attended Happy Valley Elementary, Stanley Intermediate, and Acalanes High School where she lettered in Soccer, Tennis, and Golf, and also served a leadership role in the environmental club and student government. Ashley moved back to Orinda in 2007 before moving to her current home in Lafayette in 2014. 

Ashley lives with her husband, Lorne Smith, and two young girls on the same street where she grew up.  They enjoy walking the neighborhood and “The Res”, barbequing and relaxing outside with friends, and going into town for an early family dinner before putting the kids to sleep.  She remains active with the schools and community, happy to give back to the organizations that gave so much to her.

EDUCATION

Ashley graduated from Vanderbilt University cum laude with a double major in communications and fine arts.  She has also studied architectural drafting, AutoCAD, interior design (in Florence, Italy), and as a postgraduate she studied international business at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.

Her background in marketing, communications, business, architecture, design and art history was further developed through work experience/internships. She worked as the assistant to the showroom manager at Knoll (furniture) in New York, did public relations for a dot com, spent a summer at Ketchum Advertising in San Francisco, and worked for an investment bank before her real estate career.

Patricia Battersby is a California Real Estate Broker and was first licensed in 1973.  A top producer in residential real estate in Lamorinda since 1984, she has been a leading specialist in Lafayette and Orinda.  Patty has represented buyers and sellers for some of the finest properties, including many private transactions not on the MLS.  Known as the ultimate professional, she brings experience, integrity, and a strong commitment to serve her clients to every transaction. 

Patty graduated from the University of Oregon School of Business Administration in marketing with honors.  She studied international business at the University of Pavia, Italy and worked at the US Trade Center in Milan.  She had several years experience in marketing, specializing in real estate development.  Her strong marketing background and business experience have served her well as a leading listing agent in Lamorinda real estate.

As a founding member of Village Associates Real Estate, she served on the first Board of Directors. She is a member of the Contra Costa Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. She was designated as one of the top Mega Brokers in California by Unique Homes Magazine. In 2010, she was invited to join Top Agent Network, an exclusive group of agents with access to local non-MLS listings and buyers. She also received the Award of Excellence from Realtor.com Online Marketing.
